Wayne Fricks
Car: Sterling #CCC707

My Sterling is #00707.  It is based on a 1973 Bug that I bought new.  I saw a commercial on TV (I think it was about Texaco gasoline) and it showed a Sterling sitting in a meadow with it's top up.  As the camera zoomed in, the top started down and the car moved off as the scene faded to black.  I was in love!  I searched the magazine racks for a shot of the car and was pleasantly surprised by a cover shot.  I don't remember what magazine it was.  But, it gave me enough information to find a dealer in Colorado.  I purchased the car kit for approximately $3,500, including the power top and air-conditioning options.  That was 30 years ago.

Today the car is receiving a fresh 1915 cc, dual Weber motor.  This year I will have the car registered for the first time since 2000.  My 25 year old son volunteered his garage for the current work and is involved in each step.  We've got a whole list of upgrades for the future.

The car currently resides in Aurora, CO.
